About Inn Peace
A resource born from personal experience and a deep desire to give others their freedom back.
A bit about my story
For my whole life, I have been a highly sensitive person. Life on this planet was often challenging and overstimulating, and yet I found that sensitivity came as a gift when I became interested in a career in bodywork. I earned a degree in Athletic Training from Linfield College and went on to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, specializing in injury and chronic pain treatment, as well as Thai Massage. I spent many years in a deeply rewarding wellness space, focusing my energy on helping heal others through touch and intention.
I left my practice in 2015 to undergo knee surgery and fully intended to return, but the universe had different plans. In 2016, I fell rapidly and unexpectedly into a severe health collapse, and fear began to rule my life. My nervous system was so overwhelmed that I had to exist in near sensory deprivation while my body and mind fought to hold on. I could not drive, could hardly sit up on my own, and became essentially bedridden.
Blessedly, I was guided onto a path of healing by naturopathic doctors, and with the help of many special healers who walked beside me, I picked up the shattered pieces of my soul, regained my strength, and remembered who I truly am. That healing journey was a sacred gift — a dark night of the soul for which I am eternally grateful.
Through that journey, I learned a great deal about what it means to live a low-tox life and how important it is to surround your body and mind with things that encourage wellness and not dis-ease. Environmental toxins, EMFs, and particularly synthetic fragrances can make some people's lives extremely challenging, even to the point of causing true medical emergencies. Many others simply want to make healthier choices for themselves, their families, and the planet.
As I healed and began to want to travel again, I found it nearly impossible to find places where I felt at peace so that my mind could help heal my body. So I started compiling a list, then a database, and finally a map.
Now I want to share what I've found with you.
In hope and freedom,
Hannah
A bit more about me
I have a wonderful husband and daughter who are my world. We live on 5 acres in Auburn, WA, where I love to garden, particularly my 10 large blueberry bushes. Going out and picking pounds of berries on late summer evenings fills my soul to bursting.
Other loves: cooking and baking from scratch, reading, knitting, birding, rockhounding, and spending time around horses at Young Hearts Therapeutic Riding Center, where my daughter rides twice a week. I also homeschool my daughter, which has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I'm a Taurus sun and moon, Scorpio rising, Enneagram 9w8, and a Manifesting Generator, in case that tells you anything useful about who's behind this map.
The Inn Peace Philosophy
You don't have to sacrifice your health on vacation. Safe places exist, and well-intentioned people are out there creating them. I built Inn Peace as a free low-tox travel map to connect you with them.
I believe that what works for one person may be different from the next, and that's okay. This map is built to meet a wide range of needs, not just the most extreme ones. Whatever your level of sensitivity or simply your desire to live well, there's something here for you.
